Boston Marak elected CEM of GHADC

TURA: Congress candidate Boston Marak has won the election to the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) defeating his rival Sukaram K Sangma from National People’s Party (NPP) by margin of six votes.

Boston polled 17 votes against 11 votes polled by Sangma. One of the Members of the District Council from NPP-led alliance cross-voted for the Congress candidate. Total 28 Members of District Council including 16 from Congress and 12 from NPP alliance were eligible to vote in the election to the CEM post.
