SHILLONG: The district magistrate has prohibited littering at Golf Links and Police Bazar under Section 133 of the CrPC.
In a statement, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar said the order was issued keeping in mind daily footfall of tourists in these areas and the clean image of the city. He has directed all agencies concerned to maintain cleanliness in the areas to ensure segregation of waste and proper disposal of garbage.
Dkhar stated that the order is to be complied with immediately; failing which stern action will be initiated against the defaulters.
