Rongjeng body demands development, petitions CM

SHILLONG: The Rongjeng Area Citizens Forum has submitted a 14-point memorandum to Chief Minister Mukul Sangma demanding various development initiatives in Rongjeng in East Garo Hills.
In the petition shot off to the chief minister here on Sunday, the Rongjeng Area Citizens Forum asked the State Government to recognise the Rongjeng CHC as the full-fledged first referral unit besides asking the Government to upgrade the administrative unit of Rongjeng into a full-fledged civil sub division.
The Forum also demanded that the construction of Rongjeng-Mangsang-Adokgre road be expedited besides asking the Government to speed up the setting up of the residential school in the constituency.
In addition, the Forum wants an anti-dacoity camp in the area and up gradation of Rongmil Operation Group camp to anti-dacoity camp.
