SHILLONG: With no response from the chief minister Mukul Sangma to their June 7 letter to discuss the issues related to VAB and building rules, the umbrella body of headmen, Synjuk Ki Nongsynshar Shnong ka Bri U Hynniewtrep (SNSBH), has yet again sought his intervention.
In a fresh letter addressed to the chief minister on Tuesday, the general secretary of SNSBH, R. L. Blah said that the meeting is necessary to seek clarification on the pending issues faced by Dorbars and village heads in Khasi Hills.
The letter said that the government should adhere to its promise as expressed in earlier meetings with the Synjuk in addressing the long pending issues with regards to the latest position of VAB since the KHADC had attended to all the 12 queries raised by MHA, and the same had been forwarded to the state government being the ultimate authority to send those queries to MHA.
“Also, the case with MUDA Building Bye-Laws is resulting in anguish and hardships to the general public at large”, the letter said. Moreover, the SNSBH said it is very optimistic that these two long pending issues will be addressed by the government at the right perspective without further delay.
Besides, the SNSBH said it is open for a fresh dialogue on these issues as per convenience of the chief minister.
