SHILLONG: Members of the FKJGP Central Body on Thursday demanded the director of DHS R.O. Budnah to remove Megna Das of Delhi from the state quota list.
The federation has alleged that the Delhi based candidate has applied for the MBBS and BDS seat through the state government quota.
The federation’s organizing secretary, Marbud Dkhar told reporters, ‘we are surprised as to who has given the permission for the allotment of state quota for MBBS and BDS seat to a non-tribal from Delhi,” adding that the state quota belonged to permanent and tribal residents only.
Dkhar said that Das has however given her address as Dr APG Abdul Kalam Road, Meghalaya House, New Delhi, East Khasi Hills, which has baffled the organization’s members.
He questioned the manner in which she is able to apply for the MBBS and BDS seat through the government quota even as the result is due in three days time.
“We will ensure that the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills does not give her the permanent certificate as the state quota belongs to permanent residents of the state,” he said.
