6 coal-laden trucks detained

SHILLONG: Illegal transportation of coal has once again come to the fore in violation of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) ban with the detention of six coal-laden trucks at Umsamlem in Ri Bhoi district on Saturday.
The registration numbers of the detained trucks are: AS 01 GC 0437 driven by Saiful Islam, AS 01 FC 4245 driven by Abdul Sahid, AS 01 FC 3137 driven by Lucky Singh, AS01 HC 7537driven by Ajit Lama, AS 01 GC 7073 driven by Krishna Daimary and ML 04 B 3859 driven by Phermi Ryngkhlen. An FIR has been lodged and a case registered. The drivers of the trucks will be produced before a court.
