Man loses over Rs 30000 in ATM fraud

SHILLONG: Several cases of duping and hoax calls have been reported from across the city lately.
Divinestar Jamu lodged a complaint that on August 6 around 10.40 am, he received one anonymous phone call from a person claiming to be a staff of SBI, asking for his ATM details.
Later, he found that Rs. 33,733 has been debited from his account.
Withdrawal from lost card
In another incident, a woman Maphisha Sutnga lodged a complaint that on August 1, she lost her purse containing ATM card, PAN card, EPIC and others in Jaiaw area.
Later, she received several messages informing her that Rs. 34,000 has been withdrawn from her account.
