TURA: The Garo Baptist Convention has condemned the brutal killing of Olget R Marak, a 53-year-old, man who was shot dead by GNLA militants recently at Dambuk Aga in South Garo Hills.
Marak was accused by the outfit of being a police informer and shot dead by its cadres on the night of August 1.
The convention on Wednesday, while expressing strong disapproval of the inhuman act has appealed to underground outfits to desist from killing innocent people in the name of ‘Garoland’ in future.
“We stand in solidarity with the victim’s family at this time of grief and convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved members. The convention also appeal to the people of Garo Hills to pray for the well being of the affected family and for the peace of the land,” it said in a statement.
