Office bearers A meeting of the Nongmali Unit of the Congress held on Tuesday elected the following office bearers with president (Lucas Marbaniang), vice president (Johnny Lyngdoh), general secretary (P Majaw), assistant general secretary (Augustine Mawlong) and treasurer (Batrirti Nengnong) and 30 executive committee members.

Charissa Myrthong of Shillong General Post Office has been selected as the sole representative of Women forum of N.E. Circle Group- C. She has also been selected as the nominated member of Women’s Committee of All India Postal Employees Union, Group -C, Central Head Quarter, New Delhi, and she will have equal status of Central Working Committee member, CHQ.
SK Oil released
The DC (Supply), West Khasi Hills District, has informed that S.K. Oil has been released for August through its sub-dealers. Non-supply of S.K. Oil and over-charging by dealers may be brought to the notice of the DC, a statement said.
General meet
The general body meeting of the Shillong College Alumni will be held in the college campus on August 12 at 11.30.

Romeo Phira Rani of Laitumkhrah has been selected for the ‘Bharat Jyoti Puraskar’ award as announced by Best Citizens’ Publishing House, New Delhi. Others selected for the award are Director CBI Barim, Joginder Singh, former Election Commissioner, G.V.G Krishnamurthy and Air Chief Marshal, N.C Suri, among others.
