Two arrested for assaulting Laitumkhrah headman

SHILLONG: The city police on Thursday arrested the driver and the conductor of a Government-owned Shillong Public Transport Service (SPTS) buses after the duo had assaulted the headman of Laitumkhrah here.

Police said that the incident took place on Thursday morning around 10.30 when the driver and the conductor of one SPTS bus (ML-01-7371), Michael Pyngrope (32) and Kenny Paul Hynniewta (26) assaulted Gordon S Bruce, headman of Laitumkhrah at Golf Link, Shillong.

Police also seized the bus and the matter is under investigation.
