Flood situation remains grips in Garo hills areas

TURA:  Flood situation continues to remain grave in Soutth Garo Hills district where low lying areas of Baghmara town, the district headquarter, continue to remain submerged under flood waters.

However, officials have informed that the Tura to Baghmara Road, which had remained closed since Saturday  had been restored. It was also informed that flood waters from Dimapara and Gasuapara had receded. Chokpot market which was submerged under water has also seen some respite with water level dropping.

In Dalu area of West Garo Hills, the water level of the Bugai River has also receded.
