Security beefed up in district ahead of I-Day

SHILLONG: Security has been beefed up in the entire East Khasi Hills District in view of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
SP Davis Marak said enough security arrangements have been put in place not only in the state capital but in the entire district as flag hoisting programmes would be held in other places as well.
Additional personnel have been deployed while naka checkings have been conducted in different parts of the district.
