Shelter home children celebrates spirit of freedom

SHILLONG:   Young children from three different shelter homes in the city on Monday prayed for the three lives which were lost in the tragic incident near Raj Bhawan on Saturday when an uprooted tree fell on a taxi on the road, just before they celebrated pre-Independence Day on Monday.

Reach Shillong Ministries on Monday celebrated the Pre-Independence day with the children from the three different Open Day shelters.

The objectives of the programme was to inculcate in the mind of all the children,  the spirit of nation building. D K Prasad O/ C Sardar Police Station who participated as a Chief Guest explained the children on the importance of Independence Day at the same time encouraging the children not to lose hope but to always remember that God is on their side.

Apart from dance, song and variety shows performed by the children of the Open day shelters.
