Gallantry awards for state cops

SHILLONG: Seven police personnel from the state have been chosen for gallantry awards for Independence Day.
Inspector Deven Mawlein, constables Jose Sumer, Grohon K Marak, Jester A Sangma and Macdonald Thongni, Deputy Superintendents of Police Victor Nengminza Sangma and Nikcheng Senga Ch Momin have been named for the medals.
Another police officer, Ociwell Majaw, Warder of District Jail in Shillong, has received the Correctional Service Medal for Meritorious Service. The President of India has approved the conferment of Correctional Service Medals to 20 prison personnel.
