Junior Reds start BRICS meet with a win

SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong Academy (India) started their campaign on a winning note defeating Luoyang Xigong Fanglin (China) 3-1 in the opening game of the BRICS Under-12 International Youth Football Tournament at the Putian Sports Centre in Putian, China on Wednesday.
Badapbiang Lawai, Sanki Kupar Marboh and Alwinson Bareh scored a goal each for the Lajong Junior Reds.
Shillong Lajong FC Academy is the only team to represent India in the tournament which kicked off in Putian on Wednesday.
The victory against the Chinese side augurs well for the Lajong boys who take on Dongguan Machong FC (China) at 7am (IST) on Thursday.
