UDP plea for ITI at Mawkyrwat

SHILLONG: The youth wing of UDP, Mawkyrwat circle, has urged the state government to immediately start an industrial training institute (ITI) by renting a house at Mawkyrwat in South West Khasi Hills.
A delegation of the party’s youth wing had met the director of labour & craftsman, employment department and submitted a memorandum, emphasizing the chief minister’s commitment to start an ITI in Mawkyrwat.
“The director informed us
that the place for setting up the ITI has been identified and the sanction has also been received.” Commander Shangpliang, who led the delegation said.
Shangpliang said the ITI would help the youth in Mawkyrwat to improve their skills and enhance their chances of employability.
