Theft
On August 18 around 2 am, unknown miscreants stole twenty-four batteries from a mobile tower at Nongkrem, Kharbuli . Matter is under enquiry.
Mahesh Mondal lodged a complaint that on August 17 around 6 am, he found that unknown miscreants had broke into his shop at Keating Road, Shillong and stole one TV, cash, mobile set-top box, etc.
On the night of August 3, unknown miscreants stole four LPG cylinders from the house of Noverwell K Iangrai at Langkyrding, Nongmensong.
Accident
On August 17, one motorcycle (AS-01BX-3577) ridden by Shahruk Dewan, skidded on the road at Pahamrioh Lum in Ri Bhoi and dashed against one Lum Syngkli. As a result, both the rider and the lady sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Nongpoh. Matter is under enquiry.
On August 17 around 9.30 pm, one Maruti car (ML-05G-5624) driven by Phrangsngi Bakash dashed against one truck (AS-01Z-5446) at 19th Mile, Byrnihat. As a result, the driver of the Maruti car sustained injuries and was shifted to Bethany Hospital, Nongpoh. Matter is under enquiry.
NGT violation
On August 16, Police detected one truck (ML-04B-6004) driven by one Kan Lamurong, while transporting coal in violation of NGT order at Moopala village . Police apprehended the trucker and his helper, Lakhon Dkhar.
Ram Bahadur Thapa lodged a complaint that on August 14 around 8.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole his bag containing cash, cell-phone and valuable documents from his shop at Iewduh, Shillong.
Threat
Iaishah S Japang lodged a complaint that on August 9 around 9.30 pm, one Dasharai Khongrain of Sohbar village, went to his residence at Lower Mawprem, Pdengshnong, Shillong in his absence and threatened his family members with dire consequences if an agreement is signed to lease out land as ‘Gift Deed’ to Rama Krishna Mission at Sohbar, which was agreed upon by the Dorbar Bah of Hima Sohbar.
