8 coal-laden trucks seized

SHILLONG: Police detained several coal-laden trucks from the State.
On August 19 around 10.30 am, three coal-laden trucks were detained (AS-19C-7687), (AS-19AC-0763) and (AS-19C-9387) driven by Md. Eunus Ali (22), Md. Abdul Malek and Taimul Ali respectively while transporting coal in violation of NGT order at Puriang, East Khasi Hills.
On August 18 at 9 pm, Police while conducting checking against illegal transportation of coal, seized one dumper truck (ML-04B-6360) driven by Eilad Syngkon while transporting coal at 3-Kilo Sutnga Road in East Jaintia Hills.
On the same day at 10 pm, four trucks were seized (AS-01DD-2513, AS-01GC-4159, PB-07AC-5698 & NL-01K-1387) while transporting coal. However, drivers and handymen managed to escape.
