SHILLONG: The eight KSU members who were arrested in connection with arson cases in East Khasi Hills were released on bail on Tuesday after more than two months in prison.
Five of the eight KSU members who were released on bail by the special court were arrested earlier in connection with arson under Rynjah police station.
They were arrested for throwing a petrol bomb at the police station, besides torching a police bus in Nongmynsong.
Sources said the special court granted bail to five KSU members with a strict condition that they should not be involved in similar offences or else the bail would be cancelled.
The remaining three members were released on bail by different courts for their involvement in similar arson cases in East Khasi Hills.
The KSU members have been identified as Shanbok Kharmawphlang, Kynpham Marbaniang, Seiborlang Pakyntein, Reagan Mawrie, Alkwiz Kharbani, Samuel Lyngdoh, Eric Nongkynrih and Allanlas Khyllait.
