Woman held in city  on suspicion of possessing heroin

SHILLONG: Shillong police on Wednesday arrested a woman from the city after she was suspected to be in possession of contraband heroin.

One local taxi (ML05 H-1662) which was moving suspiciously near Civil Hospital was intercepted by police on Wednesday evening.  On being detained and searched, one of the female occupant Janita Ryngksai (25), wife of Sujit Singh of Barapathar, Shillong, was found in possession of 0.43 gm of suspected heroin.

She was later brought to Sadar Police Station and arrested and case under NDPS act has been taken up against her.
