SHILLONG: The Garo Hills State Movement Committee has asked Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma to make Mahatma Gandhi University, Tura as the permanent main campus in the state.
The committee in a memorandum to the chief minister said that they have come to know that all important letters, notices by the UGC and students are made to the address of Vice Chancellor (MGU), Tura.
“Even in the proceedings of CBSENET registration, MGU Tura campus is shown as the main campus in Meghalaya,” the petition said.
However, the committee alleged that the Tura
campus lacks infrastructure with no library facilities and moreover, the campus is functioning from a rented place.
