Scrap dealers held for theft

JOWAI: Two scrap dealers have been arrested for stealing PWD road delineators from Shangpung village in West Jaintia Hills.
West Jaintia Hills police said PWD junior engineer Niwethi A Sayoo lodged a complaint on Sunday that he had received information from VDP members of Shangpung Moosyiem that Karim Ali and his accomplice, Akbar Ali, stole the delineators from Pasyih-Garompani Road. The duo is from Assam’s Kamrup district. The stolen goods were transported in a three-wheeler which was seized later, said the police.
Police have sought three-day police custody of the two.
