Cong leader joins NPP

SHILLONG: The Congress has suffered another jolt before the Assembly elections with former AICC member and MPCC general secretary, Diverland Lyngdoh joining the National People’s Party (NPP).
Lyngdoh was felicitated on Tuesday on his joining the NPP at a meeting in Mawkyrwat.
The meeting also confirmed the appointment of the office bearers of the NPP Mawkyrwat Block Committee. Senior leaders of the NPP were also present on the occasion.
During the felicitation, Lyngdoh said he was happy to become a member of the NPP as he believed the party stood for the right reasons, such as, working for the people and development of the state.
He expressed his gratitude to the leadership of NPP for providing him a platform from which he, as well as other party members could fulfill the aspirations of the people of not only Mawkyrwat constituency but also the entire district.
Party leader James Sangma expressed confidence in the leadership of Lyngdoh as chief organiser and the other members in organising the NPP.
He expressed happiness at the fact that the people of Mawkyrwat have in large numbers, expressed their faith in the leadership of NPP president Conrad Sangma.
