70-yr-old found dead in paddy field

MAWKYRWAT: The body of an elderly person, who was missing since Tuesday, was found on Wednesday.
The 70-year-old man, identified as Klik Wanniang, was from Nongbrei-Nongdom village in South West Khasi Hills. Villagers first spotted his body in Wanniang’s paddy field, which is about 3km from his house, and informed police, District SP H.G Lyngdoh said. (Contd on P-5)

Lyngdoh said there was no injury mark on the body and the man was suffering from epilepsy.
“The relatives do not suspect foul play. The body has been handed over the family,” the SP added.
