SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association (MUPSTA), Amlarem Sub-Divisional Unit West Jaintia Hills held its general meeting on August 26 at the Govt. L.P School premises in Amlarem.
The Meeting was presided over by the Unit President E. Pohtam and attended by state leaders including the Auditor E.Manner, Gen.Secretary R.R Ronghang, Organising Cum Publicity Secretary E.G War and State President Kennedy Shadap.
During the meeting, Shadap said that out of 3384 upper primary school teachers in Meghalaya, less than 1000 teachers regularly attend the agitational  programmes organised by the association.
He also stated that since the demand is to upgrade all the UP schools to full-fledged deficit demonstration and agitation will also be affected and said that the association should remain strong.
MUPSTA also elected its new office bearers and executive members of the sub divisional unit for the year 2017-2020.
