SHILLONG: The youth wing of BJP’s West Jaintia Hills unit has criticised the Congress-led state government for corruption, particularly the education scam.
The government had been pilloried in the past by opposition parties for not taking action against Ampareen Lyngdoh during whose tenure as education minister the anomalies in appointment of assistant teachers took place.
Arborlang Nongsiej, president of BJP-West Jaintia Hills youth wing, raised the issue while speaking at a meeting on anti-corruption organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) of Amlarem Mandal on Friday.
Marki Mulieh, MDC from North Jowai constituency and the president of BJP-West Jaintia Hills, lauded the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rule at the Centre for its transparency.
Others who attended the meeting were Egenstar Kurkalang, President of state Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and former MLA RL Tariang.
