SHILLONG: William Carey University, Shillong organised an orientation programme cum Fresher Social Meet on August 29 at William Carey University’s Conference Hall to welcome new students to the university. Dr. B.W. Nongbri, Registrar of WCU introduced the rules and regulations of the university to the students. Dr. Gita Pyal, Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology and Student’s Mentor shared information on promoting career development, interpersonal and motivational skills and on anti-ragging. The orientation program was followed by the fresher’s program. The Education Department also organised a Teachers’ Workshop on Integrated Learning on September 1 in the Conference Hall of the University where teachers from different schools and students from the Department of Education attended the workshop.Resource person Dr. Ken Gnanakan, who is also the Chancellor of the University talked about Integrated Learning and its importance in the present Educational System.
