Ex-NPP MLA ,  one other join Congress

SHILLONG: In a major shot in the arm for the Congress before the forthcoming  Assembly, two  candidates who unsuccessfully contested 2013    election  in Williamangar on Saturday joined Congress under the leadership of  local MLA, Deborah Marak.

While Jonathon Sangma contested the last elections against Deborah Marak as an independent candidates,  former NPP legislator Marcus Marak also unsuccessfully contested last elections against Marak.

Both the leaders along with their 500-600  supporters joined the party during a youth convention held at   Williamnagar.

Deborah Marak later said that it is a good achievement for the party and added that many more supporters would also join her shortly.
