SHILLONG: An under trial prisoner (UTP) died at Shillong Civil Hospital on Friday evening.
Police said that the UTP, Everlin Shadap Manner (40), was arrested in Jowai in connection with an attempt to commit murder case and was lodged at Jowai District jail.
Necessary formalities have been observed and matter is under enquiry.
Robbery
SHILLONG: Thieves broke into the residence of Sharmila Kumari Roy at Pine Mount School quarter, Laban on Wednesday and decamped with Rs 5,000 in cash and a cell phone. Roy has lodged a complaint with the police.
