A major portion of the road connecting town with Dobasipara was cut off for several hours following a landslip caused by torrential rains on Sunday morning. The blockade hampered movement on the national highway that connects Tura with Dalu and the entire South Garo Hills district. (ST)A jungle path that was previously used by militants and criminal gangs to kidnap civilians in the Dalu region of West Garo Hills has been converted into a footpath. The entire stretch was constructed under the MGNREGS. The footpath has been named ‘Steps of Wisdom’ and all along the path are placards inscribed with proverbs from the Bible.
