A major portion of the road connecting town with Dobasipara was cut off for several hours following a landslip caused by torrential rains on Sunday morning. The blockade hampered movement on the national highway that connects Tura with Dalu and the entire South Garo Hills district. (ST)
A jungle path that was previously used by militants and criminal gangs to kidnap civilians in the Dalu region of West Garo Hills has been converted into a footpath. The entire stretch was constructed under the MGNREGS. The footpath has been named ‘Steps of Wisdom’ and all along the path are placards inscribed with proverbs from the Bible. (ST)
