TURA: The banned GNLA had planned to ambush security forces with improvised explosive devices late last week when security forces raided a village they were taking shelter in leading to a gun battle in which the ultras fled leaving behind an AK rifle.
Police commandos raided Keni Badimagre village under Chokpot civil sub-division on Sunday night to flush out over a dozen armed militants.
After a three-day search, the military forces recovered two powerful Claymore IEDs, which the militant outfit had directed the villagers to conceal, in the area on Wednesday at around 8.30pm.
The sudden arrival of a large group of armed rebels into Chokpot region has raised security concerns and police have pushed in more reinforcements to flush out the militants from the area.
