Debate competition
Zenith Jubelieth Club, Laban is organising its annual Dr. M.M.Das Memorial debate competition on ‘Nationalism Promotes a Political Empowerment that is Undemocratic in Nature,’ on Saturday at 2.30 pm at the club premises. Schools and colleges in and around Shillong are invited to participate in the competition. Interested institute may send their teams comprising of two students.
Workshop
A two-day workshop on ‘Research Methodology’ was organised by the Division of Research and Medical Education Unit, NEIGRIHMS recently. The discourse of the workshop topics included literature search, study designs and skit.
Training
A one-day training programme for teachers and educational officials was organised by the office of the District Disaster Management Authority, in Mawkyrwat on Thursday. Awareness on disaster management Act 2005, search and rescue, first aid and a mock drill was also carried during the programme to sensitise the teachers, staff and students during event of disaster.
Cantonment board
The Shillong Cantonment Board has prepared a 15 days action plan on ‘Swachtta Hai Sewa’ campaign from September 15 to October 2. Various programmes will be held during the event which includes painting compettion, interaction with senior citizens, women’s committee, SHG, extempore speeech, slogan competition, cleaning drives in all the Wards of Cantonment, which will not involve only the office staff of Cantonment, but also general public. The programme will be inaugurated at the Jhalupara Community on Friday.
