SHILLONG: The Meghalaya High Court has conducted a hearing on trading licenses issued to non-tribals while taking up the case pertaining to KHADC and Meheshwari Mining Pvt Ltd on Wednesday.
The Court heard V.G.K. Kynta, senior counsel assisted by V. Mawlieh, counsel for the petitioner who submitted that necessary direction may be given to the respondent KHADC that it should place the details of trading licenses issued in favour of the non-tribal community for the last 20 years, which include the purpose of trade license fee, the methodology among others adopted by the Council to issue or renew the license. K. Paul, counsel for the respondent KHADC suggested that, since this Court intends to deliver the judgment in a larger issue, the JHADC and the GHADC may also be included.
He also further directed to move a proper application before this Court in this regard.
The registry was asked to furnish a copy of the order to the counsel for the petitioner as well as to the counsel for the KHADC and also to send a copy of the order to the secretary, KHADC.
The matter has been listed after puja vacation for application for impleading the JHADC and the GHADC as well as the report from the KHADC.
