One held for hurling petrol bomb at Paul Lyngdoh’s residence

SHILLONG:  Police on Friday arrested one Mike Pakyntein in connection with the incident of petrol bomb throwing at the residence of UDP MLA from West Shillong, Paul Lyngdoh at Mawprem on Monday morning.  Police said that Pakyntein has been booked under section 506 of IPC and   a case of arson.

The arrested person is one of the frontline supporters of KHNAM leader Mahendro Rapsang who is a political opponent of Lyngdoh.

East Khasi Hills SP Davis Marak said that   Mike Pakyntein had been named as the main suspect in the FIR which was filed in connection with the incident of hurling of petrol bomb.

In addition, soon after the incident, Mike Pakyntein posted a Facebook status which allegedly reads as ‘RIP Paul Lyngdoh’.

Pakyntein was produced in the Court on Friday and was been remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody.
