SHILLONG: Three girls from a city locality were humiliated by a vigilante group by way of cutting their hair and assaulting them.
This has prompted the Civil Society Women’s Organisation (CSWO) to seek immediate action against those women from Pynthor area who had harassed the girls on September 14.
Filing an FIR in this regard on Sunday, CSWO president, Agnes Kharshiing said that the girls were beaten with a stick and one of the women even attacked the girls with a scissor.
“Some women cut the hair of the girls outraging their modesty and humiliating them in the presence of the people”, the FIR said.
She urged the police to take action against the women who assaulted the girls.
