Waterfalls festival in East Jaintia Hills

JOWAI: The Dorbar Shnong of Mutong village in East Jaintia Hills in collaboration with the District Administration will organise the World Tourism Day at Mutong village christened as the Moopun Waterfalls Festival on Wednesday.
 Deputy Commissioner MS Lhuid will inaugurate the Moopun Waterfalls Festival and also the Moopun Eco Park- the unexplored.
 Various competitions including photography, swimming, exhibition of local products, archery and country cross run will be organised. There will be a special attraction such as the panorama view of the Moopun Falls, Iconic and Magical Stone Bridge (Moopun) and the rare and endemic Pitcher Plants (Tiew raikot). Moopun Waterfall is a tributary of Myntdu river located few kilometers away from the famous Rynji Falls. The Dorbar Shnong has urged all residents of Khasi and Jaintia Hills to come and enjoy the scenic beauty of the picturesque places in the area.
