Another GNLA cadre surrenders without arms to EGH police

TURA: Another cadre of the GNLA who was part of the 6th batch of recruits has surrendered without arms before East Garo Hills Police on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police of East Garo Hills, RTG Momin informed that Tengrak M Sangma (22), alias Adram and son of Poson N Sangma of Dimugre under Chiading police station gave himself up at Williamnagar. Tengrak M Sangma had joined the militant outfit in 2014.
Upon interrogation, Sangma revealed that he was punished by outfit Chief, Sohan D Shira for losing an SBBL gun and made to carry a heavy LMG. Following  the recent encounter at Keni Badima, Tengrak who was still in possession of the LMG, along with two other cadres by the names of Newak and Bilwat, got separated from Sohan’s group. It was while they were at Samanda Chinemgre that he deserted the other two leaving the LMG behind before surrendering to the police.
Earlier, after the gun battle at Keni Badima, police had recovered the magazines of the same LMG from the site.
