Kick-boxing players bring laurel to state

SHILLONG: Seventeen kick-boxing players brought laurels to the state following their participation at the National Kickboxing Championship, 2017 at Sunam, Punjab held from September 22-25.

Addressing the Press on Thursday, Samuel Hashah, president of All Meghalaya Kickboxing Association (AMKA) said that 22 students – six males, 16 females participated out of which17 students won medals.

“The students won two gold medals, four silver medals and 11 bronze medals,” Hashah said.

He further informed that the Indian Association of Kick-boxing Organisation (IAKO)awarded First degree black belt to Johny Ryntathiang and 3rd degree black belt to Hashah.

Hashah, on the other hand, is jubilant that IAKO will hold Indian Open National Kickboxing championship on December 28, 2018 in the state.
