JOWAI: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju is slated to visit Nartiang on Saturday on the occasion of Durga Puja.
The Minister of State for Home Affairs will be the chief guest, the village Secretary informed.
Nartiang, which was the summer capital of Jaintia Hills, is the only Khasi village where the Pnar community celebrates Durga Puja following the Jaintia tradition. The rituals are performed at the Durga temple that is more than 500 years old.
