SHILLONG: The secretary and Sordar of Dorbar Shnong of Diengpasoh (Village council of Diengpasoh) has slammed resident of the village, Sidramon Mukhim who accused the Sordar for giving away a plot of the community land to the Police Department allegedly without consulting the Dorbar.
Reacting to the claims of Mukhim, the Dorbar Shnong instead listed out various allegations against Mukhim asserting that she has a history of creating disruptions in the village.
The traditional heads stated that the village council informed that on February 25, 2016, the residents of the village had agreed to give away the plot of community land without payment at Lum Jamyndet to the Police department for the establishment of Police station in Diengpasoh.
In this connection, the Dorbar Shnong has shot off a petition to the Deputy Commissioner, P S Dkhar, alleging that in 1997, Mukhim and other residents have opposed the setting up of PHC.
In 2002, she disrupted the construction of a two-km road from Inspection Bungalow (IB) to Mawkneng and in 2003, during the road construction, she threw away the stones meant for construction to the nearby forest following which the DC imposed Section 144 CrPC to ensure smooth construction of the road.
In 2004, she filed a case against the Sordar, Dominic Lyngdoh to the Syiem of Khyriem Syiemship which prompted the Syiem and the Myntris to seek reconciliation but the Dorbar alleged that Mukhim instead had demanded Rs 30,000 from the village.
Again, in 2016, the traditional heads alleged that Mukhim had withdrawn Rs 13,30, 000 which is the Raid Land compensation of the village.
The secretary and Sordar of Diengpasoh have urged the district authorities to take the matter into consideration and not to affect the peace and harmony of the area.
