SHILLONG: The secretary and the Sordar of Dorbar Shnong of Diengpasoh on Friday slammed Sidramon Mukhim, a local who accused the sordar of giving away a plot of the community land to the Police Department allegedly without consulting the Dorbar.
Reacting to Mukhim’s claims, the Dorbar Shnong instead listed out various allegations against Mukhim asserting that she has a history of creating disruptions in the village.
The traditional head said the village council informed that on February 25, 2016, the residents of the village agreed to give away the plot of community land without payment at Lum Jamyndet to the Police Department for a police station in Diengpasoh.
In this connection, the Dorbar Shnong has shot off a petition to Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar alleging that in 1997, Mukhim and other residents had opposed the setting up of a primary healthcare centre.
In 2002, she also disrupted the construction of a 2 km road from Inspection Bungalow (IB) to Mawkneng and in 2003, during the road construction, she threw away stones meant for construction to a nearby forest following which the DC imposed Section 144 to ensure smooth construction of the road.
In 2004, she filed a case against the sordar, Dominic Lyngdoh, with the Syiem of Khyriem Syiemship which prompted the Syiem and the Myntris to seek reconciliation but the dorbar alleged that she demanded Rs 30,000 from the village.
Again in 2016, the traditional heads alleged that Mukhim has withdrawn Rs 13.3 lakh, meant for the Raid Land compensation to villagers.
The secretary and the sordar of Diengpasoh have urged the district authorities to take the matter into consideration and not affect the peace and harmony of the area.
