Ex-legislator joins NCP

SHILLONG: Former MLA of Rongjeng constituency in East Garo Hills, Desang M. Sangma, who had unsuccessfully contested the Assembly polls in 2013 as NPP candidate, has joined NCP along with hundreds of NPP and Congress members.
The NCP in a statement on Sunday said Narendra B. Verma, the Northeast in-charge of NCP, would be visiting the city on Tuesday to assess the party’s preparedness for the polls.
He will be meeting aspiring candidates apart from holding discussions with party members.
