CRPF jawan commits suicide in Tura

TURA: A 34-year-old CRPF constable killed himself using his service pistol late Wednesday night in Dakopgre locality of Tura town.

The deceased identified as T Chinza Kam hails from Lianzagin village of Churachandpur district in Manipur.

According to police, the victim had been on night duty and was returning to his quarter on completion of his duty hours at around 10:30 PM when he allegedly shot himself with the service weapon.

Critically injured, the constable was rushed to hospital but died on the way. An investigation is underway to ascertain the causes for the incident and police inform that prime facie appears to be a case of suicide.
