SHILLONG: The Division bench of the High Court of Meghalaya on Wednesday took up the matter about a petrol pump in Umran Diary in Ri Bhoi district which will pollute Wah Umran river.
On the submissions as made by the Government Advocate, the Court said it appears that on the objections as filed in relation to the opening of Petrol Pump in question, the District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh detailed the Extra Assistant Commissioner for conducting the enquiry into the matter by the order issued way back on April 19, but the Extra Assistant Commissioner has not completed the enquiry and is yet to submit the report.
The Government Advocate said that as per his instructions, the Extra Assistant Commissioner shall be conducting the enquiry at the earliest and submit the report within a week.
The Government Advocate also prayed for some time to complete all his instructions as regards the alleged FIR said to have been lodged in this matter.
The matter has been listed for hearing after two weeks, as prayed.
