‘Rapist’ step-father yet to be arrested

NONGSTOIN: The middle-aged man from Nongpathar in Maweit who raped his step-daughter for six years and threatened to kill her if she reported her ordeal is yet to be arrested.
Nongstoin police said they are looking for the accused, Himborlin Puwein.
The victim was first raped when she was 12.
Later, she bore three children from Puwein. The girl, now 19, lives with her grandmother.
The relatives of the girl along with the Synjuk Nongsynshar Shnong Maweit area reported the crime after she narrated her story to her grandmother.
The police said they are inquiring the case and assured that the accused would be arrested soon.
