NONGPOH: After winning the Mahindra Club Challenge 2017, one of the biggest off-roading events in India, participating members from the Adventurous Hynniewtrep Offroaders (AHOR), East Jaintia Adventure Motorsport Association (EJAMSA) and MSCM were felicitated on their arrival at the LGBI Airport, Guwahati on Wednesday.

It may be mentioned that the Mahindra Club Challenge 2017, organised by the Mahindra BAT at Kerala from 14th and 15th of this month was participated by 14 off road clubs from all over the country.

Leaders of the AHOR, Demetrius Onel Swer Kharkrang, Mathew Kenneth Makdoh, MG Kharshanlor, Ferdynald Kharkamni and others along with well-wishers and family greeted their fellow members on their arrival at the Airport with presentation of badges to the winners and congratulate them for having brought laurels to the state.

The winning team from AHOR and EJAMSA comprises Damian Umdor, Shanker Swer, Protik Roy Malngiang, Biru Dkhar, Chibor Wahlang and Pynskhem Khynriam, whereas a team of MSCM who comes in the fourth position of the challenge comprises Eugene Niangti, Balajied Japang, Richmond Bell Lyngdoh, Yertarlan Pariong, Kitbok Kyndiah and Balajied Dorphang.

Leaders of AHOR express their deep gratitude to Eugene Niangti for being instrumental in helping the members of AHOR participate in the event.

They also informed that this was the first time in the history of the Meghalaya, that three off- roading clubs had together participated in the event outside the state and managed to be successful despite stiff competitions from other clubs of the country who were having cars of international standards and had also competed in the Rain Forest Challenge whereas teams from the state competed for the event with just ordinary cars.

“With the results favouring us, this clearly indicates that our drivers are talented and skillful and we have no doubt that we can continue this winning streak in the upcoming events,” the leaders said adding that the main ingredient of winning is teamwork.
