Meetings
The Joint Action Committee of All Meghalaya Paramedical Staff Association will be holding a general meeting on October 21 at 11 am at Don Bosco Youth Center Hall, Laitumkhrah.
The general meeting of the Seng jait Lyngwa will be held on October 21 from 10:30 am at the auditorium of Shillong Polytechnic, Mawlai Kynton Massar.
The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association Shillong City, will hold its general meeting on October 21 at the Khasi National Durbar Hall, Mawkhar at 11 am. The meeting will discuss various matters on how to strengthen the organisation especially in the city which is the main headquarters. It requests all teachers under Shillong unit to attend the meeting.

Award
The KSU, Madan Laban Unit will organise its 1st Maitshaphrang Award for the meritorious students of the area under its unit for the year 2017. They invite students who are eligible for the award to contact Shiningstar Chyne, education secretary (9774104113) and Jeffery Iangrai (8794202511).

Electoral roll
 The Electoral Registration Officer of 5- Sutnga Saipung (ST) and 6-Khliehriat (ST) Assembly Constituencies has prepared the photo electoral roll in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960 and a copy is available for inspection at the office of the Electoral Registration Officer and at all concerned polling stations during office hours. The qualifying date for the preparation of the electoral roll is on January 1, 2018.

 Dry days
The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills has declared dry day on October 19 and 20 on account of Kali Puja and  Diwali in the entire district of East Khasi Hills. All bonded warehouse, IMFL shops, bars, hotels, clubs and outstiål shops will remain closed on the above mentioned dates.

Kali puja
Deepawali and Kali puja will be celebrated at Yogamaya Ashram at Laban on October 19. Puja will begin  with Adhibas on October 18 evening and on October 19, puja will begin at 8 am and distribution of prasad from 1.30 pm.

Blood donation
The State Blood Transfusion Council in collaboration with Meghalaya AIDS Control Society and licensed Blood Banks will be observing the State Level National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on October 18 at Dr. H. Gordon Roberts Hospital, Jaiaw from 11 am.

BJP Mahila
The Mahila ( Women’s Wing ) unit of the 18th West Shillong BJP Mandal Committee was formed on October 14 in Shillong. The BJP Meghalaya Pradesh Secretary in-charge of Mahila, Sabnam Shahi attended the formation of formal procedure and also presided over the function.

Awareness cum health camp
The District Basin Development Unit, West Jaintia Hills in collaboration with the Bio-Resources Development Centre, Shillong and State Council of Science Technology and Environment, Shillong will organise a one-day awareness cum health camp on traditional healing on October 18 at Thadlaskein EFC, Thadlaskein C&RD Block at 10:30 am.
