SHILLONG: The girl from Mawiong Rim, who had gone ‘missing’ on October 9 returned home on Friday morning with the help of a youth.
According to sources, the youth (20) hailing from Assam met her at a place called 10th Mile.
As per his statement, the girl requested him to drop her home.
When asked to name the person with whom she went on October 9, the girl said he identified himself as Subhash Mili.
The girl had known him only for four months and she along with Subhash got into a vehicle from Garikhana before proceeding to Assam.
When asked about the details of the youth who brought her home, the girl said she had met him on the way and requested him to help her as Subhash wanted her to stay on at his residence in Assam.
Police are likely to question another woman, Tun Kharbani, who knew the whereabouts of the girl and the youth who brought her home.
The girl was taken for medical examination accompanied by her parents and relatives, who, however, are happy over her return.
Police sources said that they are also examining the trafficking angle.
WGH girl missing
The parents of Tandy Nosa Ch Marak (16) from West Garo Hills, who went missing on October 16, appealed to the public to inform them if they knew about her whereabouts.
The girl went missing from her house at Jendregre and it was reported at Rongram outpost on October 17.
The FIR was forwarded to the West Garo Hills SP on Friday.
Police are finding it difficult to trace the girl as her mobile phone is switched off.
