NPP MDC absconds after assault

TURA: Raksamgre NPP candidate and sitting MDC, Benedict Marak has allegedly assaulted a niece of late PA Sangma.
The victim hails from Tikrikilla in West Garo Hills.
Though the incident occurred on Tuesday last, a complaint was subsequently lodged with Tikrikilla police station.
Police said the accused from Tura Te’tengkol locality is absconding.
Recently, NPP president and Tura MP Conrad Sangma had at a public rally announced the candidature of Marak to contest from Raksamgre constituency.
