District level training on VVPAT held

TURA: Training of District Level Master Trainer on Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trial (VVPAT) was held for all the election officials of the district at DRDA Conference Hall, West Garo Hills Tura. The training was organized in order to provide ‘Hands on’ and quality training for Presiding Officers, Polling Officers, Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Sector and Counting Personnel, according to a government communique.

During her presentation, Additional Deputy Commissioner, A V D Shira informed that the Master Trainers would have to impart training to the field officials therefore, every officer should get an opportunity to operate the EVMs with the VVPAT system and learn the process of recording the vote using VVPAT. In view of this all the political parties and electors of the assembly constituencies need to be sensitized about using VVPAT and a demonstration of VVPAT was also organized.

She also informed the gathering about the instructions of the Commission on preparation of EVMs  and VVPAT for polls in the usual manner including functioning and procedure of operating VVPAT in the coming elections.

Sumit Dey student of NEHU Tura campus and Dipjetera D Sangma were awarded the best campus ambassadors and felicitated by Skylance G Momin during the function.
